RDP not working when logged into Microsoft account

There are two ways to create accounts in windows, local accounts and through microsoft accounts. Local accounts are generally a sound choice because of windows telemetry, however if you want to link your windows license to your account you need to sign in.

Signing in with your windows account however has a side effect if you have enabled Remote Desktop Connection (RDP); its not possible to do so. You get stuck at the sign in window in the client/rdp viewer.

To work around this the best option is to convert the account back to a local account or create another account that is specifically set up to sign in to microsoft.

To create a local account go to settings > accounts > convert to local account
